Using Materral

Fees. You pay when you win.

Materral charges a share of the profit a trade actually makes, capped at a small slice of trade size. Losing trades pay nothing. Exchange and pool fees, which the venues charge, are covered further down.

The edge fee#

On a winning trade, Materral takes a share of the net profit: what is left after venue fees, gas and slippage. The fee is capped, so a large win is never taxed heavily, and it can never turn a winning trade into a losing one.

Before you confirm, the ticket shows one line, for example Materral fee: 15% of profit, max $10.

Plans#

Every plan can trade live. Plans change the edge-fee rate and what comes with it, not access.

How it is charged#

RouteHowWhen
Elysium native (pool to pool, one transaction)The contract takes your plan's share of the realised profit in the same transactionAt settlement, only if the trade made money
Hyperliquid, and Elysium routing to HyperCoreA builder fee on the order: your plan's share of the quoted edge, set in bps of sizeAt fill, on the sell side for spot
Exchange legs (Kraken, Coinbase, OKX, Binance.US, Bitstamp)No Materral feeNever charged

Hyperliquid caps builder fees at 0.1% on perps and 1% on spot, and you approve the maximum from your own wallet (Hyperliquid docs). If a Hyperliquid trade makes less than quoted, the difference comes back to you as a trading credit, so you never pay more than your plan's share of what you actually made.

No Materral fee on#

  • trades that lose money;
  • unwinds, forced hedges, protective exits and kill-switch closes;
  • paper trades;
  • your first $100,000 of live fills, as a founding offer.

Where trading revenue goes#

Every trading fee is split three ways, and the biggest share goes back to traders.

USDC rewards for active traders45%

Token buybacks and burns15%

Subscription revenue goes to development and infrastructure.

Token fees#

Where the launch venue supports it, Materral will also collect creator fees, or fees earned by protocol-owned token liquidity. That revenue is allocated separately.

Rewards and token utility#

  • USDC rewards you claim. Rewards build up after every trade, based on the Materral fee you actually paid. They unlock 25 minutes later, once the trade has settled and passed checks, and you claim them from the app whenever you like, from $1.
  • Locker discount. Lock tokens and your Materral fee drops by 10%.
  • Trading credits. Non-transferable, used against future Materral fees or gas.
  • Buybacks and burns. Revenue buys tokens on the market and burns them permanently.
  • Token liquidity. Part of the token's own fees deepens its market over time. Your trades never use your funds as liquidity: they fill on each venue's own books and pools.

Limits and transparency#

Everything returned to a trader on a trade is capped at 60% of the Materral fee: up to 45% in rewards, 10% locker discount and 5% credits. Nobody can profit by trading with themselves to farm rewards.

Collections, allocations, rewards and burns will all be publicly trackable. Allocations apply to revenue after refunds and direct collection costs.

Exchange and pool fees#

These are charged by the venues themselves, not by Materral. Out of the box, Materral uses each exchange's published base retail tier. Those fees are high, and most active traders pay less. Enter your own tier to see your real numbers.

Base taker fees#

The highest rate each venue charges, before any volume discount. Your own rate is usually lower: set it under Your fees and every route is priced with it.

HyperCore spot0.07%Lower with HYPE staking or a referral code

Fees as published by each venue on 2026-11-05. Venues change their schedules from time to time, so your account page is always the final word.

Pool fees#

Pools set their own fee and it cannot be changed by a setting: 0.05% or 0.30% on the Uniswap v3 pools, 0.05% on Project X, and a dynamic fee on nest (about 0.13% when checked).

Why your own tier matters#

A gap of 20 bps cannot survive a 0.80% taker fee on one leg; it can survive a 0.10% one. At base tier, the exchange fee is usually larger than the price gap, so nearly every route shows a negative net. The worked example shows the same gap flip from −$28.83 to +$41.17 on the Kraken fee alone.

Your fee tier usually depends on your 30-day volume and the account type. Look it up in each exchange's account settings, not on its public page.

How to set it#

  1. Open the app.
  2. Open Your fees from the top bar or the terminal toolbar. Pick a starting tier (Published, About $1M / month, $10M+ / month) or enter the taker and maker fee you pay on each order-book venue.
  3. Every route is re-priced immediately with your tier, and paper trades placed afterwards record the tier in force when they were placed.

Rest one side (maker mode)#

Under How you place orders, choose Rest one side. On the leg where it saves the most, materral prices a limit order sitting at the best bid (to buy) or best ask (to sell). That leg pays the lower maker fee and earns the spread instead of paying it. The other leg is taken at once when it fills.

  • It may not fill. Paper trades wait up to 30 s, then cancel and nothing trades.
  • Fills come at bad moments. A resting order tends to fill when price moves through it. Every route carries a Fill risk cost line for a 10 s wait, and paper fills only count once the opposite side of the book reaches your price, which is stricter than a real queue.
  • Venues without a published maker fee (Bitstamp, for now) are never used as the resting side unless you enter your own.
Order-book venues only. Your fee applies to exchanges and HyperCore. Pool fees are set by the pool.
